To ensure diagnostic confidence on softcopy medical display systems, whether for diagnostic or review displays, a number of quality standards and guidelines have been laid down to inform medical physicists, PACS engineers, researchers and radiologists of best practice.
These standards outline acceptance testing, which checks whether the display solution meets the requirements, as well as quality control, which specifies periodic check-ups to see if the system maintains its consistency.
To assist administrators in their efforts to make display systems comply with these standards, NEC has developed and incorporated these conformance procedures within the GammaCompMD QA software, which is included for all MD and NEC MDview products. GammaCompMD, automates these additional tasks through a user-friendly graphical interface, thereby drastically reducing system administrator's workload and the total life cycle cost of softcopy display systems.
