IMPROVING THE VIEWING OF PACS IMAGES IN THE OPERATING THEATRE

The Boulogne-sur-Mer Hospital Centre has equipped its operating theatre with specialist NEC 46” displays in order to improve the viewing of PACS images and videos, to facilitate the work of surgeons and the nursing team. Patient Archive and Communication System (PACS) will eventually replace traditional film within all hospital centres.

PROJECTING MOVING IMAGE ARTWORK IN STUNNING HD

To coincide with the London 2012 Olympic Games, Film and Video Umbrella and De La Warr Pavilion presented four newly commissioned moving image artworks on the theme of sporting excellence. With high levels of expectation regarding quality of image and delivery from the artists and the producer, three NEC PA500U projectors were specified to do justice to the stunning HD content in a challenging mixed light environment.

DÜSSELDORFER STUDENTEN EVALUIEREN DEN EINSATZ VON TECHNIK IN VORLESUNGEN

Bei Vorlesungen in Fachhochschulen und Universitäten besteht noch immer großer Verbesserungsbedarf bei der Einbindung innovativer Präsentationstechniken. Das ist das Untersuchungsergebnis eines Projektes im Studiengang Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen der Fachhochschule Düsseldorf. Acht Studenten haben Kommilitonen und Dozenten ausgiebig zum Einsatz von zeitgemäßen Präsentationstechniken in Vorlesungen befragt. Unterstützt wurde das Projekt von NEC Display Solutions. Das Unternehmen unterstützt unterschiedliche Projekte aus Forschung und Lehre bei der Evaluation von innovativen Unterrichtsmethoden.

For the 2012 commission at Tate Britain, artist Patrick Keiller was invited to animate the space with an exhibition based on his arts practice. Tate selected NEC PA Series displays to present Keiller’s film works, providing elegance and discretion whilst displaying high quality images, colour saturation and resolution with great viewing angles, allowing curatorial flexibility and an enhanced visitor experience.

Evaluating the benefits of digitising its menu boards, the John Lewis Partnership instructed Digital Media Projects Ltd (DMP), a technology company based in Harrogate to create a digital signage concept for its flagship Oxford Street store. Replacing typed A3 boards, diners visiting The Place to Eat restaurant, the Brasserie, the Bistro and the Coffee Shop now make their selection from 25 x 23” EX231W and two x 46” P461 NEC screens positioned alongside each serving section. The signage on these screens, powered by DMP’s digital signage solution can be created, amended and deployed from anywhere with an internet connection using their unique web-based Creator and Content Management System (CMS).
