Flexible Display Solutions – Option Slot

NEC Public Displays with the Option Slot offer guaranteed flexibility for creative applications. Particularly in those situations where an external system would take up too much space. When the highest requirements are being placed on the design; when no cabling can be allowed to disturb the overall external appearance. In addition, whenever flexibility is key and creativity without constraint needs to be applied to the application solutions.

There are several slots in NEC products. The naming below should help keep an overview of what option slots NEC products feature:

Option Slot STv1
Slot Technology Version 1 which is the conventional NEC slot.

Option Slot STv2
Slot Technology Version 2 which is the new NEC slot compatible with NEC/Intel OPS standard. Intel and NEC developed the OPS standard in order make it easier for customers to integrate the player device into the screen and to achieve scale to reduce the cost of digital signage solutions. The standard makes it easy for player device manufactures and display makers to develop products which are compatible out of the box and offers the end user a large selection of solutions to choose from. Future-proof due to standardization. Display and slot option can be operated with new products in the future if the  customer wishes to upgrade.

Dual Option Slot STv1/STv2
Refers to products coming with both STv1 and STv2. For STv2 product an adapter is required. The new generation of industry standard OPS boards. This makes the dual slot products uniquely both “inventory” and “future” proof in terms of compatibility and upgradeability.
