Privacy Policy

NEC Displays Solutions Europe GmbH places great value on the protection of personal data. In the following we would like to inform you about the type, extent and purpose of the collection and use of personal data when using our website:

In general, no personal data is collected on our website as this is a purely informational website. We collect personal data if you actively disclose this to us (e.g. if registration is required for particular service areas).

In addition, user data accrues as part of your access, i.e. the host name of the accessing computer, the IP address, date and time of each access. As a matter of principle, we delete user data after use unless we are required to keep records for a specific period by statute, by our articles of association or by contract in which case the data would in any case be locked. Over and above this, we are entitled to use anonymous data or pseudonymised user profiles for advertising or market research purposes or to ensure that our services meet demands. You may object to this use of pseudonymised user profiles at any time.

Our websites use plug-ins of the social network facebook.com. Further information on the collection and use of data by Facebook about your rights and ways to protect your privacy, see the privacy notices of Facebook.

Our websites use cookies. These are small text files which are copied on to your hard disk by a web server. Cookies contain information which can be subsequently read by a web server in the domain in which the cookie was issued to you. Cookies cannot execute programs or place viruses on your computer.
Cookies are used to assign your computer query during a current session. With your consent they can also be used as part of ‘remember me’ functionality, to assign your computer query in the next session as well in the interests of user-friendliness.
The information we collect using cookies also permits us to analyze traffic patterns on our site. This can enable us over time to provide users with a better experience on our site by improving the content and making it easier to use.

You can accept or reject cookies via your browser at any time. Most web browsers accept cookies automatically. You can, however, usually specify in the browser settings that cookies should be rejected. The help function in the menu bar of most web browsers explains how and to what extent you can prevent cookies and generally switch off the use of cookies. Please note that in this case we can no longer offer you some of the functionality on the website.

This website serves only the following cookies to your computer:

Session Cookies – these are temporary cookies that expire (and are automatically erased) whenever you close your browser. We use session cookies to grant access to content (things you have to log in to do). These cookies are necessary to operate the site.

Persistent cookies – these usually have an expiration date far into the future and thus stay in your browser until they expire, or until you manually delete them. We use persistent cookies for functionalities like the ‘remember me’ functinality, which makes it possible for registered users to return to the site without having to log in.

We are using Piwik for website analytics to better understand how many people come and what is popular which helps us to improve the site. No personally identifiable information (PII) is stored and site usage is always looked at on an aggregate (and anonymous) level.

We also use advertising cookies, these are used to evalute the effectiveness of advertising and promotion. They are usually placed by advertising networks with our permission. They remember that you have visited a website and this information is shared with other organisations such as advertisers.

Insofar as we use data for a particular purpose which requires your consent under statutory provisions we will always ask separately for your express consent. Once given, you can revoke your consent at any time and/or object to future use of your data.
