Our displays in Zürich Airport

Unique (Flughafen Zürich AG) was looking for a technology with a long useful lifetime with which to display information to the public. Now 33 Public Displays situated between the terminals and the baggage return areas tell passengers which carousel to go to collect their luggage.

"The large-screen LCDs offer a lower total cost of ownership because their useful life is almost twice as long and they consume up to 30 per cent less energy, while the fact that they weigh less also confers enormous advantages. The chief advantages of the new LCDs are their extremely good picture quality and lack of susceptibility to image persistence, and their light weight means that they can if necessary be quickly and easily replaced. After the good experience we’ve had with these monitors we have already decided to equip other parts of the airport with them," explained Fritz Rüdiger, Communications Engineer in Unique (Flughafen Zürich AG)’s Information and Communication Technology department.
